when the religion of Christ takes precedent over Christ itself,

when the name becomes irreparably mistaken for the thing itself,

and when the nature of 'man' overwhelms us

and we forget the humanness we are of nature

-- that is where mediation takes place,

where artificial digressions begin,

where forgetfulness defeats us,

and we find ourselves where we are now:
